Resume

Yisheng Lai, Ph.D., Principal investigator of Center of Drug Discovery, State Key Laboratory of Natural Medicines, Key Laboratory of Metabolic Diseases in Jiangsu Province, China Pharmaceutical University. Dr. Lai obtained his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry at China Pharmaceutical University under the supervision of Prof. Yihua Zhang in 2004. Dr. Lai’s research interest focuses on the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of small molecular agents targeting crucial proteins in human diseases, including cancer and inflammatory disorders. He has discovered a series of lead compounds with novel structure for important drug targets, among which several candidates are currently undergoing preclinical studies. So far, he has published more than 100 academic papers in the field of medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry and pharmacology, and has applied 35 patents and obtained 15 patent certifications.
